Description
The plot of Soviet writer Anatoly Pristavkina's story «A golden cloud was sleeping» is based on real events. In the play, this fact becomes the driving force. Non-fictional characters exist in circumstances that are impossible to believe today. The year is 1944, the Second World War is about to end.
Five hundred homeless children from Moscow orphanages are transported to the Caucasus for the purpose of developing new lands. A cheerful, reckless train passes half the country to fulfil a bright ideological mission. The central characters twin brothers Kolka and Sashka Kuzmina, for their eleven years live almost a full life. They are born into this world, grow up, learn to be happy, gain wisdom, grow old and realise that they are mortal.
