Our hands are cold

The play was created within the framework of the project with GITIS. The play is directed by Eugenia Tikidzhi-Khamburyan.

The staging combines five stories by Anton Chekhov: «Volodya», «Enemies», a fragment of the stories «Verochka», «Meeting of Spring» and «The Event».

The characters of the stories exist in a single space resembling a kaleidoscope, which gives the audience the opportunity to simultaneously observe the lives of very different characters united by everything that Chekhov emphasized in his works.

The plot of the play is based on two stories:

- Volodya's tragic story, which tells of his first love, the stage of growing up and his complicated relationship with adults;

- the story of the Doctor and Abogin, united by their common grief.

The play is about people who try to find understanding and support, but do not find those warm hands that could give them everything they are looking for.

Behind the human traits and characters of the characters one can clearly read global and very modern things.

This production is the director's attempt to ask the audience questions and reflect with them.

The play is a participant of the International Theater Festival «Camerata» (Chelyabinsk).
